    TONIGHT, THE ABC7 I-TEAM TAKES A LOOK AT AN ALARMING TREND IN OUR AREA: DEATHS AND SEVERE INJURIES CAUSED BY FALLS FROM LOCAL CONSTRUCTION SITES.

    WE'VE LEARNED THAT NEARLY HALF OF ALL THE CASUALTIES ARE HISPANIC IMMIGRANTS. I-TEAM REPORTER ANDREA MCCARREN JOINS US NOW WITH MORE.

    SAFETY TRAINING IS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW … BUT WALT WISE OF THE IRONWORKERS UNION SAYS IT'S RARELY MONITORED OR ENFORCED … EVEN ON GOVERNMENT PROJECTS.
