Construction safety debate By Jon Hanian, KBCI, ID
You can't build a house with out swinging a big hammer. But lately builders say federal inspectors have been dropping a big regulatory hammer on them according to Ted Martinez of the Idaho Building Contractors Association of Southwest Idaho. "Common sense is probably the key word." Martinez says contractors want a safe working environment but they are complaining that OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) inspectors are not using "common sense" when issuing violations.

Martinez says local builders belive OSHA is using Idaho as a training ground for inexperienced inspectors.
