'80 strike was easier, Teamster remembers By TOM HOWARD, Billings Gazette, MT
The 2004 Teamsters strike is one in a series of work stoppages that have occurred in the Billings area in the past few years. Last July, workers for Stillwater Mining Co. went on strike for 10 days. Billings teachers were on strike for 20 days during November of 2002. The Teamsters struck Sysco Foods of Montana for four days in October 2000
.
The 1980 Teamsters strike also occurred during a period of labor unrest. It coincided with a United Mine Workers strike at Decker and a strike by the United Carpenters Union in Billings.------------------------------------------- posted 6:14 AM :: reference link ::
