Remembering labor The Jackson Citizen Patriot, MI
The labor movement not only helped make Labor Day a national holiday, it helped get workplace standards like the 40-hour work week, minimum wage and overtime accepted and made law.
'A lot of people just think these things came out of the air, but people fought for these things,' said Jim Johnson, business agent with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 252.
