Teen building inspector quits post Chicago Sun Times
Andy Ryan, whose father, Tom Ryan, is the secretary-treasurer of Carpenters Local 13, grossly exaggerated claims he made on a job application filled out in February, said Buildings Commissioner Stan Kaderbek.

Nailing a city job, Chicago-style BY CAROL MARIN, Chicago Sun Times
In order to be a buildings inspector in Chicago, you have to be a member of the carpenters union. But you also have to meet certain job requirements posted by the city. For instance, you have to complete an ''approved building trade apprentice program AND have journeyman status AND have two years of work experience.'' That's according to Breelyn Pete, spokeswoman for the Buildings Department.
