Explosions and fires in dust collectors Canadian Occupational Safety magazine
What can cause combustible dust to explode? There are several factors that will make combustible dust susceptible to an explosion. These include chemical composition, the shape and fineness of the dust, dust distribution in the gas stream or atmosphere, concentration of oxygen in the gas stream, initial temperature and pressure of the gas and an energy level available to detonate the explosion.
