    Injured construction worker recovering Aberdeen American News, SD
    In 2003, the U.S. construction industry reported more fatal accidents than any other sector, according to statistics from the federal Labor Department. A total of 1,126 fatal construction accidents were reported, 226 the result of building construction.

    Also last year, 691 job-related fatal falls were reported nationwide.
