Union scores victory at another Quebec Wal-Mart UFCW Canada
Another Wal-Mart in Québec has gone union, bringing to two the number of unionized Wal-Mart locations in Québec, and North America.
Workers at a Wal-Mart in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec have been certified as a union bargaining unit by the Québec Labour Relations Commission (QLRC) after the QLRC determined a majority of the employees at the store had signed cards with UFCW Canada (United Food and Commercial Workers Canada).
Wal-Mart has no concept of workplace democracy statement by National Director of UFCW Canada
"What's no secret is that Wal-Mart has been found guilty of unfair labour practices on numerous occasions both in Canada and the United States. Unlike Wal-Mart, UFCW Canada has never been found guilty of unfair labour practices or coercion during a recruitment campaign.
If Wal-Mart Canada truly believes in democracy they should mind their own business and let their employees decide if they want a union or not."------------------------------------------- posted 1:10 PM :: reference link ::
