Chicago Lays Blame in 2003 Porch Collapse McGraw-Hill Construction | ENR
'The city does not believe that the swaying or jumping on the porch was the only cause of the collapse, but it is certainly a significant factor,' Ehrlich said.
At least a dozen wrongful-death lawsuits have been filed against the building's owner, whose attorney said the porch was built to code but that it was overloaded with people.
