Wal-Mart assailed in Parliament for 'economic terrorism' NUPGE
Canadian labour minister says workers' rights should be respected

Ottawa - Member of Parliament David Christopherson says the Canadian government should intervene to protect workers' rights against the anti-labour tactics of Wal-Mart, which plans to close a store in Quebec rather than deal with a union.

'Wal-Mart's closure of its first unionized store is being characterized as economic terrorism, a blatant attempt to smash organizing activities across the country,' the Hamilton, Ontario, MP told the House of Commons.
