Ant officer nearly died - The Sunday Mail, QUEENSLAND, AU
The worker received dozens of bites and was later treated with an anti-venom made up of crushed fire ants, which saved him from becoming Queensland's first fatality.
Dozens of fire ant inspectors in the US have died from bites.
Sources said the worker was refused a redundancy payout by the Government and was forced to go on a disability pension.
He won a confidential WorkCover payout this week with the help of lawyers and the Australian Workers Union.------------------------------------------- posted 5:00 AM :: reference link ::
