Moon artist fashions nose art for air guard planes - Susan Schmeichel, Beaver County Times, PA
Last week, Pitaro, working on scaffolding, put the finishing touches on her latest creation, 'Steel City Pride,' on the nose of a KC-135 in a hangar at the 171st.
The design, which has four figures - a Steelers football player, a coal miner, an air crewman and an ironworker -- with the Pittsburgh city silhouette in the background, was designed with input from Master Sgt. Greg Haney, the assistant crew chief.
