Unions back deportees - By TOM GODFREY, TORONTO SUN
Jose Eustaquio, of the Laborers' International Union of North America, said thousands of the workers build residential homes that can face completion delays.
"The deportations of these people can bring the construction industry to a halt," Eustaquio said yesterday. "The business as we know it will suffer."
Carlos Pimentel, of the Ontario Regional Council of Carpenters, Drywall and Allied Workers, said a lack of workers will mean housing delays and higher costs.
"There will be a shortfall of workers in the market," he said. "People will have to pay more for those left behind."
