The Packet: Why are they leaving? - By Kirk Squires, The Packet, Canada
In many areas of the province it is near impossible to find a carpenter or a plumber. Some businesses are looking for millwrights and other trades to help them keep their business running.
So why are people leaving?
Money.
It's simply mathematics. Why stay in Newfoundland when you can go to Alberta, Ontario or B.C. and make two to three times more and pay less for things like food and gas and less again in taxes and fees. Again we direct your attention to the $180 people in this province pay for vehicle registration.------------------------------------------- posted 6:52 AM :: reference link ::
