Lockout a "disgrace’ - By Tera Camus, ChronicleHerald.ca, Halifax, N.S.
National CAW president Buzz Hargrove said Premier Rodney MacDonald should "be ashamed" for not mediating a settlement between the company and the workers, who were asked to take a wage cut to $10 per hour — what they earned 13 years ago.

When they refused, the company locked out union members, most of whom have worked at the plant for 20 to 30 years.
