Strike ends quickly as workers stick together - by Susan O'Neill, Elburn Herald, IL
Other trades people, such as pipe-fitters, carpenters, electricians, iron workers, truck drivers, painters and plumbers honored the strike as well, and did not cross the picket line to work on the various construction projects, explained Larson.
“That is very typical in a labor strike,” he said.
People in cars and trucks honked and waved at the two laborers holding signs outside of the college on Friday, in recognition of the strike.
“It's hitting home for people,” said Mann. “People are losing their jobs and their retirement. Other tradesmen sacrificed wages in a show of solidarity, knowing that they could be next.”------------------------------------------- posted 7:54 AM :: reference link ::
