Sudden Death Records - D.O.A. News Summer 2006

On July 8th, D.O.A. will share the stage at the Our Way Home reunion with renowned activist/singer Buffy Sainte-Marie. During the Vietnam War, 50,000 draft resistors fled America to Canada and 25,000 of them ended up staying in Canada. Now this summer, a lot of those brave draft resistors, as well as modern war protesters, will come together at the Brilliant Cultural Center in Castlegar, B.C. A couple of years ago, the Our Way Home organizers tried to have a statue erected to honour this anti-war bravery in Nelson, B.C. It was met by a harsh outcry from hawkish American veterans groups and Fox News, but this memorial for sanity and peace will go ahead as planned. D.O.A. will perform songs from their latest studio album "Live Free Or Die," as well as classics from "War On 45." Joe Keithley, when asked about the event, had this to say "This is a great cause and besides, if Fox News is against it, it makes bloody good sense to me!"
