    Crash kills worker, driver; boss blamed - By Paul Larocco, Press-Enterprise, CA
    UPLAND - A Lake Elsinore utility worker was killed and his co-worker was arrested late Wednesday after an elderly man fatally crashed his car into a pole the workers were lowering onto the road.
    =============
    Jenkins, 29, was stabilizing the pole at the other end, and the crash forced it into his torso, Ansara said. He died at San Antonio Community Hospital about an hour later.

    Investigators said Dimaano's action rose to the criminal level because he placed no warnings around the utility work he was overseeing: no flares, flagmen, signs, lights or roadblocks.

    'There were a number of things that could have been done, but weren't,' Ansara said.

    Dimaano was booked at West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, which requires an action 'without due caution or circumspection' leading to death.
