Court overturns Metro Detroit union official's conviction - By Paul Egan, The Detroit News
A federal appeals court today overturned a Metro Detroit union official's convictions for theft, embezzlement and conspiracy.
William Henry Barnwell, 60, a former Warren city councilman and a former director of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, had been convicted in 2004 of inducing union officials to help build a house for the secretary of another top official in the carpenters union.------------------------------------------- posted 7:27 AM :: reference link ::
