    The creation of Sam McGee Robert Service borrowed the prospector's name to write a tall tale
    Sam McGee was not from Tennessee and and he wasn't cremated on the marge of Lake Lebarge. Born in Ontario, he died in southern Alberta and is buried in a small cemetery near Beiseker.
