Workday Minnesota: Workers gather for annual Minnesota AFL-CIO convention MINNEAPOLIS — The 46th annual Minnesota AFL-CIO convention convenes at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel. About 800 union members from across the state are expected to participate.
Linda Chavez-Thompson, executive vice president of the AFL-CIO, and John Wilhelm, president of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees International Union, will be among the featured speakers.
