Airpower Museum Carefully Restores a Hangar By CAROLE PAQUETTE
The museum has 10 historic planes that are still operational, including a P-47 Thunderbolt, and other artifacts. Exhibits include a Tuskegee Airmen display, which was recently built by a volunteer group of professional carpenters from the Hauppauge-based Suburban New York Regional Council of Carpenters, a trade union, under the direction of its president, William Weitzman. The carpenters are currently constructing a Republic Aviation display.
