    Female equipment operator pulls her weight on construction sites By AGNES DIGGS
    The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that, in 2002, construction workers held about 416,000 jobs in the national work force. Only a small number of those were women in what is a heavily male-dominated profession. Ortega said she has worked with only two other female operators in her 10 years.
