Remarks by the President in a Conversation on Homeownership whitehouse.gov news release
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. Thanks a lot. Thank you all very much. I appreciate Doug McCarron's leadership in terms of making sure people have the skills necessary to work in the jobs of the 21st century. Actually, you look like you're dressed the way a President should be -- (laughter) -- and I'm dressed like a carpenter. (Laughter.) Which isn't all that bad a deal.

Bush gets to work at carpentry center Jon Kamman,The Arizona Republic
President Bush went through a few minutes of carpenter training Friday in Phoenix, emerged without hammering a single nail or thumb, and did an 'incredibly good job' of screwing up - literally - when he used a power tool to drive four screws.

Before addressing an audience of about 700 people in the cavernous training center opened in February by the Southwest Regional Council of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Bush took a brief tour of instruction areas and gave the media multiple photo opportunities by doing a bit of hands-on work.
