Defendant describes melee in Deptford By TIM ZATZARINY JR., NJ Courier-Post
Craven was at the restaurant along with a group of fellow carpenters union members for a holiday gathering. The union's president, Anthony Macciarella, was asked to leave for causing a disturbance but got into an argument with bouncers who told him to put down a bottle of beer before he went outside. The bouncers knocked the bottle out of his hand.
