Protesters call for change By Ben Jones, Post-Crescent
Fifty protesters demonstrated along W. College Avenue in Grand Chute at the site of the former Rich Products bakery that closed two years ago, eliminating 400 jobs. They carried signs that said “2.3 million jobs lost in the U.S.,” “Show us the jobs” and “Outsource Bush.”
Surveyor Rick Jones of Appleton was laid off a month ago from Oscar J. Boldt Construction. He blames Bush’s economic policies.
“We need a president who wants to look more after the working man instead of settling personal differences over in Iraq,” Jones said.
After two hours of protesting and honks of support from motorists, Bush’s motorcade flashed by.
“He’s just not in touch with people,” said Dan Brand, an unemployed ironworker from La Crosse. “He could have stopped to talk to us.”------------------------------------------- posted 10:05 AM :: reference link ::
