DeFazio calls Bush anti-worker By Diane Dietz, The Register-Guard, OR
A union electrician, 54-year-old Greg Hobbs from Fall Creek, stepped forward to say he's worked only three months out of the past two years - and he is now on his last two weeks of unemployment benefits.
'For 25 years, I was solidly middle class. I had a good job, good health insurance and good wages. And now, I've gone from being solidly middle class to indigent in two years,' Hobbs said.
Hobbs said he's tried for lower paying jobs at manufacturing firms, but they turn him away because he's older and overqualified. 'I'm worried about what I'm going to do this fall. How am I going to get through the winter?' he said."------------------------------------------- posted 8:52 AM :: reference link ::
