Traditions strong for ironworkers By WAYNE MYERS, Oneida Dispatch, NY
CANASTOTA - The Mohawk ironworker tradition that dates to the 1880s continues among other Iroquois Federation tribes on skyscrapers mushrooming in Times Square and on massive works like the arcing Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle.
But Mohawks are just one of many groups, including Newfoundlanders, with a strong ironworker tradition.
