Decking the Halls? Beware of Falls By E.J. Mundell, HealthCentral.com
If you're bent on hanging mistletoe, take heed: U.S. safety experts warn that serious injuries linked to falls rise during the holiday season.

Each year between Nov. 1 and Jan. 31, about 5,800 Americans are treated in U.S. emergency rooms for fall-related injuries that occur while they are hanging Christmas lights and decorations.

Agency to review workplace death By Howard Yune, Coos Bay World, OR
The state's workplace safety watchdog group will investigate the death of a 67-year-old Wal-Mart employee who fell to his death Friday at the retail chain's Coos Bay store.

According to a Coos Bay Police log, an employee reported the accident at 3:56 p.m. to the Coos Bay Fire Department. The dispatch record indicated Richey, a sales associate, was standing on a stepladder in Aisle 11 of the store's grocery section when he fell to the floor and began bleeding from the head and mouth.
