Foundry reopens following tragedy By TOM QUIGLEY, The Express Times, PA
McWane was the subject of reports published and aired by The New York Times and PBS in 2003. Those reports concluded the company has a history of poor worker-safety conditions.
Last year, McWane attorneys reached an out-of-court settlement with the widow of a Northampton County man killed in a forklift accident at the Atlantic States plant.
The accident that ended the life of Alfred E. Coxe occurred in 2000.
In January 1999, Sonnie Peacock, 54, of Harmony Township, died while working at the plant. The electrician was hit by a crane as he repaired a conveyer motor on an elevated platform.------------------------------------------- posted 1:30 PM :: reference link ::
