Union celebrates Labor Day - By Erin Murphy, Peoria Journal Star, IL
The purpose of the United Auto Workers Local 974's Labor Day family picnic Saturday was to celebrate labor unions and the hard-working individuals who comprise them.
But several other issues weighed on the minds of those in attendance - specifically, Hurricane Katrina and staggering gas prices at the gas pumps.
