    Machinists' Leader Hopes To Heal Election Wounds - By PAUL MARKS, Hartford Courant
    As his swearing-in ceremony approaches on Sunday, John C. Taylor is seeking ways to heal the bitterness left over from his election as president of the Machinists union local in East Hartford.

    It was a narrow victory for the maverick union activist, with lots of hard feelings, Taylor said Friday. In the election last month, he bested an incumbent who had held the post for 10 years.
