Buoyed by a hero's sendoff, transit union leader Roger Toussaint surrendered last night to be strip-searched then locked in a closet-size jail cell for 10 days - punishment for leading last year's illegal strike.
The president of Transport Workers Union Local 100 turned himself in to sheriff's deputies at the Manhattan Criminal Court building at 100 Centre St. at 7:13 p.m.
