    The $100,000 CHOICE apprenticeship program -- developed by the union, YMCA and Toronto Community Housing -- was one of five projects honoured last night by the Mayor's Community Safety Awards.

    The carpentry program, which boasts 12 graduates and 14 new trainees, targets at-risk youth like Bennett, who had bounced from school to school before dropping out.
