'Middle-level' skills needed - By JOEL DRESANG, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
'We need people going into the vocational and technical schools in order to get the work done in this country,' Melanie Holmes, vice president of corporate relations at Manpower North America, said at an employment workshop Friday.
Release of the report coincides with the launch of a non-partisan campaign to raise middle-skill education as a national priority. The Skills2Compete campaign is endorsed by more than 100 organizations, including the National Association of Manufacturers, the Machinists union, the National Association of Workforce Boards, and the Milwaukee-based New Hope Project.------------------------------------------- posted 8:07 PM :: reference link ::
