    Veteran Woodworkers Have Demand Nailed By Patricia V. Rivera, Dallas Morning News
    Experienced woodworkers are in demand as people and businesses spend more on home and office repair and renovations.

    The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that opportunities should be available for woodworkers who specialize in such items as moldings, cabinets, stairs and windows. Job prospects will be best for highly skilled woodworkers who can operate computerized numerical-control machine tools.

    Charleston’s historic buildings could face extinction if nobody knows how to restore and renovate them, says Bob Fleming, president of West Ashley-based Remodeling & Construction Inc.
     
    In fact, there is a serious shortage of skilled plasterers, carpenters, masons and other building artisans, claims Fleming.
