Union Workers Without Jobs In The Twin Cities WEEK-TV, IL
Eight years as a Union Electrician and Tom Keim says this is the slowest he's ever seen building. He knows what the 15 to 18 percent of unemployed union electricians in Bloomington/Normal are going through because he, himself, just got off the bench. Keim says, “About three months I was off. I got picked up about a month and a half ago. Our company has some good work going, so we're doing alright.” The Laborers and Carpenters Unions also report anywhere from 10 to 20 percent of its members are without work.
