Getting behind the wheel of unlicensed-driver detection By John Valenti, Newsday, NY
The men were killed on an otherwise ordinary Tuesday morning in July. Their names were David Kresofsky and Gerald Geist. One was 41, the other was 60. They were family men and carpenters, from the Long Island Carpenters Local 7.
They were at a union protest at a construction site on the westbound service road of Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore. They were mowed down, with six other men, by an out-of-control pick-up truck - allegedly driven by a man who police said was not only driving under the influence of drugs, but also with a suspended license.
