I-75 WORKERS' ACCIDENT: Painting company's record in question after deadly fall Detroit Free Press
A bridge-painting company with more than a dozen state citations for safety violations since 1995 faces additional scrutiny after an employee fell to his death Friday and three other workers suffered critical injuries at an I-75 on-ramp in southwest Detroit.
The mishap took place at 11 a.m., when cables holding a 20-by-30-foot platform to the underside of the on-ramp snapped, police said. The platform plummeted 30 feet to the ground south of Dearborn Avenue, landing under the elevated freeway. Jorge Anaya, 44, of Detroit was killed.------------------------------------------- posted 6:46 AM :: reference link ::
