Protesters greet president's campaign stop in Michigan Detroit Free Press
'He took my job away,' said Randy DePeel, 46, an unemployed construction worker from Walkerville, about an hour's drive northwest of Grand Rapids.
DePeel, a member of Local 324 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, said Bush's economic policies have resulted in a number of halted construction projects and, in turn, have left him and many other unionized laborers without work.
'He's the first president since the Great Depression who will not have produced one net job -- not one,' said Mark Mathews, 47, a resident of the Muskegon area. Like DePeel, Mathews is an unemployed construction worker and member of Local 324.------------------------------------------- posted 9:36 AM :: reference link ::
